I recently purchased a telescope for my 3 year old and everything was assembled correctly. all the images are upside down, even through the finderscope. it is a guidesman 45 ~ 675 x 60 telescope. any help would be great.

It is astronomical telescope rather than a terrestial one.

i got one of these for my boy as well and it was a pain in the tail to get the finderscope lined up with the telescope but it can be done. it's simply a poor design but kinda fun for the kids once it does work. first teh images will be reversed since it works off of mirrors. makes it a little difficult to sight in until you get used to it.
once the finderscope is lined up you can see the moon really well. we counted several craters on the moon. we too had to focus to teh point to where the eyepiece was about to fall out of the tube but it was worth it.
a tip for sighting is if you think you are close then move the legs of the tripod a little to fine tune it. the scope is so flimsy that when you are using the actual focus knobs you end up shaking the whole thing out of focus. basically chasing your own tail.
hope this helps.

i just bought one of these for my kids, and it was fuzzy also, i had to pull the eye piece tube all the way out to the very edge. it was right at the threshold of the set screw.
